Bad news turns to good

Well the bad news is that I will not be attending Caketastic tonight because of some things that came up, but w/e there will be plenty more!

But good news is that I completed a freestyle raw mixtape.
I call it JUNGLE JUICE because of it features some great jungle and drum n bass music from UK's top artists.

CAKETASTIC 2009!!

This Saturday (7/11) I will be (hopefully) attending a rave in Southbridge, MA only know simply as 'Caketastic'

It is being put on by The Hard Hitters and will be featuring some of the best local New England hardcore / hard dance DJs.

Another rave in the NE area this weekend is Funky Formation in Connecticut, and it is one long ass party!
If it wasn't such a drive for me and I could pay for a hotel right now (for it is conveniently IN one *with reduced rates for ravers*) I would def. check this out! So get on it if you are in the area!

Label

I have now established my own, out of the house, record label.
I dub it, RADrekkidz. The 'RAD' obviously coming from DJ Kon'RAD' *hence the anarchy symbol for the A ha*
But I will use this to distribute my own music and others such as colabs, and other local artists and DJs who need representation and put out their songs with me.
There is no application to sign up as of yet.
And there won't be until I can properly establish the label.
For now it will just be my own music, or those I have asked and signed myself.
All future events will also be put on by RADrekkidz, as well as everything else I do now.
It's just a more official way of representing myself.

So just letting everyone know ha.
Also the record shop will now be managed and run by RADrekkidz, and will feature artists CDs signed on the label, and all label releases *I am working on better merch too, not just Zazzle*
But this also means for now, there are no more orders on overseas hardcore vinyl until I get a more convenient supplier.

Profiles in excellence: Week 1

Here's a new segment I like to call Profiles in Excellence, which will be a weekly segment featuring a contributor to the music world, and why they deserve this prestigeous award haha.

And what a better way to start this off than with Mr. Joey Riot himself!

Joey Riot is an astounding DJ, MC, producer, song writer, and all around guy!
Born in Scotland, and an avid Celtic FC supporter, he takes a lot of flak from his mainly English fan-base, but he still seems to win them over with his incredible songs and skills. And of course being a Celtic supporter myself, and thinking Scottish people are the shit, I have even more reason to like this man! ha!

Joey co-owns Lethal Theory Records with DJ Kurt, and does a damn fine job I must say. He is an avid Facebook user and is always happy to get new friends and chat it up while he is in his studio working (which is all the time for this man DOESN'T QUIT!).
When he's not banging out new hardcore hits, he is out playing them at club after club, and party after party. Every night it seems almost! From what I have seen and heard, he loves his fans, he's a all around fun person to be around, and a great DJ/musician. What more could you ask for? If there was to be at least one person from the hardcore scene I meet in person someday when I'm in the UK, it would have to be Joey Riot, because not only would it be an honour to jump and freak to his amazing sound, but the bloke would probably get wasted with ya afterward! haha
And this is why Joey Riot gets this weeks Profile in Excellence!!
